Lean Enterprise Basic Course
The Lean Enterprise Basic Course provides training in the concepts of the Lean Works-Enterprise Technology and teaches the specific tools with which to implement these concepts. The Basic Course is designed to prepare members of an implementation team for the activities of the Enterprise Implementation System. However, it also provides an excellent foundation for individuals who are already engaged in or beginning implementation activities. The learning style is interactive with short classroom sessions followed by breakout sessions. The sessions provide the opportunity to implement lean tools within the context of a simulated company scenario.
Topics
The Lean Enterprise Basic Course covers all of the major concepts and tools of the Lean Works-Enterprise Technology and shows how the various tools relate to an implementation roadmap. Some of the key concepts that are presented include:
- Customer - Market Scope Techniques
- Rate-Based Demand Planning and Production Scheduling
- Product Design Configurations
- Lean Production Techniques (Flow, Point-of-Use, Pull, Mistake Proofing, TPM, Set-up Reduction, Visual Controls)
- Kanban Material "pull" system and MRP
- Supply chain integration
- Distribution channel integration
Attendees
The typical attendee comes from a variety of cross-functional positions including business unit leaders and functional staffs, plant and product-line managers, production supervisors, and manufacturing and design engineers. The average class sizes are between 25 and 30 individuals.
Location
This course is offered periodically at the Lean Works Training Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. In addition, the course may be provided on-site at a company's location.
