The Enterprise BlackBelt is designed for people who have functional roles at the corporate level, and who will be supporting business unit transformations. Participants will receive more detailed training in the Lean Works-Enterprise Technology as it applies to their respective roles, enabling them to assist the various business units as they go through the Enterprise Implementation System. They will work toward mastery of the enterprise technology concepts for their segment of the enterprise. They will be assigned projects to develop corporate templates and specific tools or systems that benefit multiple product lines.

The five functional areas that Enterprise BlackBelts may specialize in are Sales, Operations, Planning, Design, and Supply Chain. The certification process requires Lean Enterprise basic training, appropriate advanced skills training, Enterprise Implementation System team participation or other demonstrated project results.
